Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice

Zoë’s Place has been in operation in Liverpool for the last 14 years. During this time, the work of the Hospice has really captured the heart of the Liverpool community. The Liverpool Hospice is currently looking to make major improvements to the facilities available in order for us to care for more high dependency babies. The Hospice is soon to launch a major appeal to enable this work to be realised.
Zoë’s Place is the only Baby Hospice in the UK. The West Derby based Hospice offers a one to one care service in a home from home setting, providing a safe and loving environment for our special babies. Mums and dads are able to go away and relax, safe in the knowledge that a trained member of the Zoë’s Place Care Team will be dedicated to the needs of their child.
The respite care at Zoë’s Place has proven to be vital to so many of the families who have benefited from our service. We are honoured that the parents of our babies feel so confident as to entrust their babies into our care.
Special Care for Special Babies
Zoë’s Place provides 24 hour respite and palliative care for babies with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions aged from 0-5 years. This care is provided free of charge to all those who access our facilities. More information about Zoë’s Place may be found on our website www.zoesplaceliverpool.org
At Zoë’s Place, our special babies require special equipment and facilities. The Hospice benefits from the following: a light sensory room, a hydrotherapy pool, a messy play area and a dedicated garden.
Zoë’s Place has recently benefited from a donation of a wonderful minibus and are now able go on fantastic trips out and have recently visited Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium amongst others. Zoë’s Place is now also equipped to collect babies from their homes, this have proved to be invaluable for parents in assisting with the transportation of their babies.
Zoë’s Place continually strives to improve the holistic side of our care, extending our attentions to the parents as well as our babies. A Family Support Worker provides support and guidance to our parents, with monthly coffee mornings or trips out for parents of our children.
Bereavement Care
A bereavement suite is available on site, providing a private, comfortable area for parents to stay. Zoë’s Place nursing staff are always on hand for our families and are able to offer bereavement counselling as well as practical advice and vital support.
Zoë’s Place relies upon charitable donations to raise our running costs which are currently in excess of £750,000 per annum. Zoë’s Place currently benefits from a Department of Health Grant for the enhancement of our service. It is thanks to your support that we are able to continue our service which is so vital to the babies and families that we care for.
Partnership with Clothes Aid
Our partnership with Clothes Aid will guarantee an extra income of £25,000 per annum which will be used to improve the Hospice facilities, making the stay for our babies more comfortable and enjoyable.
In the case of one-stop collections, Zoë’s Place will receive £300 per tonne collected. Read more about one-stop collections here.
